In the fall of 2024, the Womengineer Foundation and Ny Teknik launched the Wera network. Today, we are pleased to announce that Women Ahead has joined Wera as an official recruitment partner. Together, we want to create more opportunities for women and non-binary people in engineering and technology professions and contribute to a more equal labor market.
“Getting the right skills is one of the biggest challenges the technology industry faces. With Women Ahead as a recruitment partner, we are opening doors for more women and non-binary people to take a place and develop in the technology sector,” says Marie Ideström, CEO of Womengineer.
Wera aims to build a platform where women and non-binary people can be inspired, network and develop in technology, sustainability and leadership. Through activities such as mentorship, seminars and networking meetings, the goal is to increase their influence and representation in the engineering profession.
As a recruitment partner, Women Ahead will support Wera's members with career guidance, matching to attractive employers and strengthening the network's work to create more opportunities for underrepresented groups.
– At Women Ahead, we are passionate about creating real change. Through our collaboration with Wera, we can together reach more talent and showcase the fantastic career opportunities that exist in the technology industry. We look forward to supporting the network's members in the next step of their career journeys, says Petra Hermans, CEO of Women Ahead.
In 2025, the network will continue to develop for its members, including through more tailored career initiatives and new events. A couple of Wera & Friends meetings will be held in Gothenburg in May, and the autumn agenda is packed.
Other partners of Wera in 2025 are AFRY, the Swedish Transport Administration, Scania, Fellowmind, Preem and BAE Systems.
